Disaster Recovery Alternative Power The most frequent disaster striking business these days is a lack of power. All it needs is a workman to be digging up a pavement a few streets away and your power could be cut, and you would not know why for hours.
What would be effected if your power was hit; security systems, fire systems, lifts, telephony, heating, cooling, all pcs, copiers, coffee machines, coke machines even water could be effected.
Power losses are the sharp end the path to business closure.
How can you avoid it?
Planning, Diversity, Back up Generators, Battery power on essentials.
Do you know where your power comes into the building? Do you know who brings it along the street? Who should you phone if it goes off? Could you use a phone if it goes off? have you got an analogue line to the outside world which does not go through your switch system?
Have you a back up generator? What does it supply? Have you upgraded it since adding more pcs in your office? When do you test it? Do you test it under load? Is the Fuel locked away? It is a valuable commodity know so thieves will target it.

Call Out Plan Who will tell you of the disaster, and how?
Who will you tell? Have you a cascade system of communication?
For you to tell 100 people is that 100 calls? not if the first 5 call another 5 each who call another 5 each that is 125 people called, but will the same message get through, yes if you plan.... see statement
above.
