The Channel Tunnel Village As General Manager of the Channel Tunnel Village, appointed to supervise design and operation of services to its 1176 residents provide complete life support services on a 24*7 basis. Services as Diverce as; Security, Reception, Accommodation, Laundry, Catering, Bars, Recreation, Sports, Grounds and Building Maintenance, Utilities.
The Village was a commercial venture that needed to attract Residents and ensure they spent money on services within the village to ensure its profitability.
Continued in that role for the 5 years of operation and returned the site to its green field.
Southend NHS Trust This placement started as a consultancy and ended as an FM Placement, the first outsourcing of an NHS FM contract. The services covered were Portering, Cleaning, Catering, Car Park Management, Security, Maintenance, Two sites in Southend with a combined 800 beds including Accident and Emergency. The savings created by our efficiencies became our fee after we fully understood the NHS way of managing the accounts.
The Falkland Islands Our Consultant was seconded in the South Atlantic to close the site where 2500 construction workers were finishing the construction of the Falklands Airport. Providing life support services as diverse as Catering, Accommodation, Maintenance, Waste Management, Security, Recreation, Shops, Bars and Medical and Dentistry. But seeing more opportunities he took over the management of another site ran by competitors, won the contract to operate a Laundry and Dry Cleaning site for the Military Forces, a Catering services on board a Navel Support Vessel, and a support service for the newly inaugurated Fishery Defence Fleet, thus extending the short posting into a 2 year challenge. Working 8000 miles from support office developed his resourcefulness, self motivation and tenacity. The challenge of project management in remote places makes our consultant well placed to succeed in most tasks.
   
Building Handover  Documentation Using the knowledge and skills developed in building management our consultant has helped many companies to have building documents that help them to gain the maximum operation value and high customer satisfaction from the buildings they occupy. Using his skills developed at SDS he was able to convert paper records to electronic safe and fully searchable data. Providing safe speedy and secure access for Facilities Managers to their building data. His knowledge was used to develop a check list to identify what should be in any robust and useful set of Building Handover Documentation
Avia Being part of the initial team who was tasked to find the Avia offices in Eastern Europe, and then integrate them in Facilities Management gave our consultant the challenge of language skills, distance management, invention and resourcefulness. From Moscow to Warsaw, Budapest to St Petersberg with Bratislava Prague Riga and Irkuts inbetween. Resourcing staff, training, setting key standards and reporting mechanisms were all part of the requirement
